WWII Veteran’s Honor Flight

Published February 25, 2011 by jeaniel47

In the state of Iowa there are “Honor Flights” where World War II veterans are given a free airplane flight to Washington DC to see the memorial that honors what they did in World War II.

A local casino that is required to give so much money back to the state each year, and they have a rule that they will not donate to any trips. They will not even consider the Honor Flight.

I understand that they must have rules and guidelines on how to use the money to help the state and the communities, but they should at least really consider what a wonderful program this is and how much it means to the men and woman who fought to defeat the Nazi’s and the devastation they caused the world. What would our world be today if these men and woman had not sacrificed for us?

I am sure that there of many of these veterans that are on very limited bugets, probably only Social Security and a trip like this would never be possible for them without the help of the Honor Flight.

Maybe it is time that we consider a boycott…
