Well, I broke down and bought a new vacuum cleaner this weekend. The old one had given it’s life to try and keep my carpets clean, but as we all do, it had gotten older and just couldn’t cut the mustard or pick up the dog hair any more. The new one sprung to life with the roar of a never used before motor and worked like a dream. I think I vacuumed up at least 4 dogs worth of hair. The vacuuming inspired me – I did three loads of laundry, cleaned the bathroom, including the toilet, which is my least favorite job and then on to the kitchen. I got down on the hands and knees and washed the kitchen floor. I have searched for years to find some other way to do that job and nothing really seems to work. I am just not sure how many more years my old body will be able to get down there into the cracks and corners and get them clean. Once that is done you still have to try and get up off of the floor….don’t laugh, someday you will know what I am talking about. The only way to really get it clean is on your hands and knees. I even moved out the refrigerator and found several mystery prizes under there. Now the floor wax is drying and I am taking a break before I move on to dusting. I can hardly wait until it is done, there is nothing better than sitting down at night in a clean house… too bad it just never lasts….
